My Top 5 Essential Drug Store Products

Even though I have quite a lot of high end make up, I still have plenty of make up that I buy from drug stores. I feel like drug store make up tends to get a bad rep but there are some things that I get from my local drug store that I can’t live without.

So here it is:

1. Organix Extra Strength Morroccan Argan Oil –

This is my go to hair product that I’ve been using for about three years now, and I don’t think I could ever go a day without it. This oil is perfect for curly semi-frizzy hair like mine and it basically keeps it looking natural and flowy without getting my hair too oily. My usual routine is to put a dime size drop into the palm of my hand and rub it into my washed clean wet hair. I start at the ends and work my way up so that it doesn’t get too oily at my roots. I like to let my hair air dry because it just looks more natural like that. This product runs for about $8 at any local drugstore, and that’s a pretty good price for a really good Morroccan oil that will last quite a while (about 6 – 8 months for my very long hair). I highly reccommend this oil because it’s not too pricy and it really works!

2. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser – Dark Circles Treatment Concealer

Maybelline

I feel like I’ve tried so many concealers and have found some that work for me, but out of the ones that work, I am obsessed with my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser! This concealer does just what it says. It’s a light concealer that is connected to a sponge applicator so it’s easy to use without getting your hands or brushes too dirty. The light airy texture of the concealer is failry liquidy when applied but dries into a very nice finish when pat down with your fingers or brushes. It is very easy to blend and because it’s such a light concealer, you can use it every day. It literally takes me about 2 minutes to apply this concealer, especially when I use it with my beauty blender. Sometimes I’ll let my first application of the concealer dry and apply a second coat after to create a more dramatic look. I also use this concealer to go over my cheek bones when I’m highlighting and contouring and it always leads to a flawless look. This concealer runs for about $9 at any drug store, which is annother awesome price for such a good product, and this concealer usually lasts me about 3 months. Overall this concealer is a great product and I love it because it’s easy to use, it’s not messy at all, and it really covers well.

3. CoverGirl Lash Blast Fusion

lashblast

Oh my lashes. This is a mascara that I SWEAR by. I’ve been using this mascara for over 5 years, and it is the constant in my ever changing make up collection. This mascara has the PERFECT wand, that’s big enough to get every single lash, without making the lashes look over clumped. The consistency of the actual mascara liquid is a thicker solution, that really grabs onto your lashes and separates them beautifully. LashBlast makes my eyelashes look extrememly full and long, and I always have people asking me what mascara I use. I find that this mascara never disappoints me. This mascara is my absolute favorite mascara ever, and I’ve tried them all from the high end mascaras, to the other drug store mascaras, until I realized that this product is magic in a tube. This mascara is about $9 at any drug store, and lasts about 2-3 months for me. I usually apply the mascara at the very end of my make up routine, and then wait for my first coat to dry before going back over my lashes with a second coat. I usuaully don’t use more than 2 coats, unless I’m going for a very dramatic look. With this mascara, all you really need is two coats and you’re lashes will look beautiful.

4. L’oreal True Match Super Blendable Powder

Loreal

Here’s another product I’ve been using for years. L’oreal’s True Match Super Blendable Powder is light, airy, and easy to apply. This powder covers extremely well, and it a must have for my make up collection. I found that I can use this powder without any other foundation and it leaves my face looking fresh and flawless. This powder is whispy and is really long lasting when I wear with primer or even by itself. Sometimes when I want to achieve a more airbrushed look, I’ll apply this powder over my MAC Studio Fix liquid foundation and it just helps my make up set and stay put. This powder does exactly what it says it will do. I highly recommend using this powder with runs for about $12 at any drug store. I use my L’oreal True Match powder with my Eco Tools Kabuki Brush, which helps layer on this foundation well without losing too much of the actual product in the brush. So if you’re looking for a great powder that’s not ridiculously expensive but still gets the job done, this is probably your best bet!

5. Revlon Lip Butter

revlon lip butter

I was super excited when I first heard about the Revlon Lip Butters. With this product, Revlon promises a vibrant pigmented color with the same texture of a buttery chapstick, and boy does Revlon deliver. This lipstick is one of the best I’ve ever used. It’s a very glossy, buttery, and soft texture without being messy. The colors go on bright and smoothly, without drying out your lips at all. I find this lipstick to be equivalent to a chapstick. I like these lip butters so much, I went out and bought every single one. My all time favorite lip butter color is the “Pink Truffle” color which is a pinkish nude color that looks beautiful on any skin tone. Overall, this lip butters are a great treat to get yourself and I seriously can’t live without them, they cost about $7 at any drug store. I use them with every and any look, from day time to a night out. This lipstick is a great product that keeps your lips looking soft and smooth and extremely sexy.

Again, these are just the things that I find I can’t live without. If you have any other drug store products that you can’t live without, leave a comment and let me know!
